Jesus Prays to God

The Disciples Praying

Gethsemane

Matthew 26:36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." (NIV)

Not My Will But Yours

Mark 14:35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him. 36 ["Abba], Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will." (NIV)

The Betrayal

Matthew 26:48 Now the betrayer had arranged a signal with them: "The one I kiss is the man; arrest him." 49 Going at once to Jesus, Judas said, "Greetings, Rabbi!" and kissed him. (NIV)

Luke 22:47 While he was still speaking a crowd came up, and the man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them. He approached Jesus to kiss him, 48 but Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?" (NIV)
